The Second Gathering with Becky Anderson: Continuing the Conversation
New Mexico Arts and Rural Economic Development
March 26-March 28, 2006
Anthony's at the Delta Complex, 228 Paseo de Onate, Espanola
You are invited to attend a presentation on "Arts and Rural Economic Development," which is focused on the needs of Northern New Mexico.
Becky Anderson is founder and Executive Director of HandMade in America, Asheville NC. HandMade in America is the foremost arts and economic development organization in the US, having nurtured arts & cultural heritage and tourism projects in western North Carolina for over ten years. These projects have led to community-based revitalization of many small communities in that region.
Widely regarded throughout America as a community and collaboration-building guru, Anderson's full day presentation on March 27 will demonstrate how artisans, agricultural producers and other rural entrepreneurs can work effectively with policy leaders, community activists and others to stimulate rural economic development. Anderson will be available March 28th to talk individually with artisan groups interested in implementing collaborative marketing efforts.
Anderson's presentation -- which reflects the challenges and successes experienced by HandMade in America as its program evolved -- is free and open to the public. The full-day agenda is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 27 at the Anthony's at the Delta Compound, 228 Paseo De Onate, Espanola.
Space is limited and registration is required. To register please call Ashley at 505-820-1226 or email Ashley@rdcnm.org. The program agenda is available at www.bizport.org.
